Camporee 2008
Camporee is a mandatory troop camp event where our patrols compete with patrols from other troops in the district
to earn the coveted “White Buffalo” award. We compete not only on scout skills, but also on scout spirit such as
showing good scout yells, good display of uniforms, and keeping clean campsites. In addition there are extra activities
such as CPR classes, shotgun shooting, and an Order of the Arrow induction ceremony.
Patrols will assign tent, food, duties, and gear responsibilities prior to this event. Please get your patrol
leader's email/phone information so you will be sure to have everything you need. Meals will consist of
- Friday Cracker Barrel (adults provide)
- Saturday Breakfast
- Saturday Lunch
- Saturday Dinner
- Saturday Cracker Barrel (adults provide)
- Sunday Breakfast
Scout patrols will be preparing for Camporee in the coming troop meetings. In this packet, you will find maps,
event descriptions, permission slips, and handy checklists to help you prepare for Camporee. Parents are invited to
stay one or two nights with us to assist with the camp. Unfortunately, since this is an official Boy Scout event,
siblings and non-scout friends are not allowed to participate. Please go to our Camporee registration website:
www.bachmo.net/troop606/camporee to sign on. Parents, please
be sure to volunteer for something.
The tour leader for this event is Mr. Mark Bachman (mark@bachmo.net, 949-705-9041).
